The way to Timbuctoo will take
all the day. You will spend noon on the road beside the
Niger river and arrive late in the afternoon to Timbuctoo,
the mysterious desert city. You can visit the city(well
of Buctoo, Elfarouk, Djingareber mosque built in 1325
by Essahili, Gordon laing house and many others explorators),
the same evening or early next morning. You will spend
the night in Amanar Hotel who has a good restaurant.
Timbuctoo, the mysterious city called again the "queen
of the sand" is the place where the camel caravanes
bringing the salt from Taoudeni meet with the river boats
bringing millet from Mopti. |
